B-Shift

Hey all - just a quick shot out from your friendly B-shifters.  It's been business as usual for us: the occasional fire, lots of medical calls, and tons of training for our probies.  We're also ramping up our Wellness/Fitness Initiative.  There are several B-shifters involved as peer fitness trainers and we're looking to continually advocate and encourage a culture change within our profession.  To that end we've just purchased some new fitness equipment and distributed it to the various stations.  Along with that we're planning some department-wide workout sessions in March.  The focus of these will address not only physical agility and strength but also the nutritional component as well.  More to come on this soon!  That's all for now. Stay safe!

Snowy Day for B-Shifters

Almost 10" of snow made for a busy shift at work! Every call was a challenge due to the weather - packed snow and ice on the roads made travel more than a little dicey. We also found ourselves shoveling snow not just from our walkways and aprons, but from the station's roof as well.

Yesterday was also the first day for B-shift's two new probies...heck of a first shift! We'll be keeping a close eye on our two newest members and helping guide them through their probationary year. We're hopeful our probies will embrace our B-shift work ethic and sense of pride.

ALTS

Last week I had the opportunity to attend the IAFF Affiliated Leadership Training Summit (ALTS) with another one of my B-shift brothers. The seminar was great and the courses we took were first class. It was great to see so many other union brothers and sisters gathered in one place with a common goal: education. As professional firefighters it is our duty and privilege to continually grow and learn and ALTS was a great vehicle for doing just that.

F-15 fly over

video This is the F-15 fly over for the National Guard Pilot from St Helens!
This is the shot from Michelle's Phone! Pretty impressive looking up at a Coast Guard helicopter hovering over you, lifting your Pt.

It has been awhile!

Here are a couple pictures that don't give CCSO any justice!!! They were trying to help in a rescue a of Hunter who was shot by his hunting partner. The Coast Guard flew the Pt to Emanuel.

Here is a rare Pic of Capt. DePriest seating backward on E472.

And last Barbi and Davies on a Gas Leak!
